About the East Baton Rouge Lions Club

Lions Club International chartered the East Baton Rouge Lions Club in 1946. East Baton Rouge has been the leader in its district in fundraising and support of our two outstanding state projects. Our fundraising efforts allow hundreds of local people to see clearly through eye care, surgery and glasses. Learn more about our eyeglass projects.
Our club has been the home to five district governors: Ernie Skillman, Zeke Dunaway, Dr. Paul Hendershot, Bill Simon and John Gray. Bill Simon and John Gray have served as president of the Louisiana Lions Camp for special needs children. Zeke Dunaway has served as president of the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation and as chairman of the Miles for Smiles campaign.

Our motto is "We Serve." The members of our club enjoy weekly meetings, local guest speakers and camaraderie created by working together to help others not as fortunate as ourselves. We meet every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at Drusilla Seafood Restaurant.
If you are looking for an opportunity to donate some of your time and talents toward helping others, you will find no other club that will reward you as richly as the East Baton Rouge Lions Club. Learn how to become a member.
